A big sister's privilege

I don't have many new pictures today (there's only so many I can take of Renna sleeping), but I thought this was pretty cute with Lily. We had to go to the store yesterday and since the Miner (Youssef's work) gave us a Safeway gift card we got just a few fun things with it (barbecue chips are another thing that Lily is eating now that I got, that I don't normally ever buy) besides more practical stuff. It was really fun actually because we sort of went around the store and mostly just picked what we wanted. I got some things that we'd been needing too, but it felt so wonderfully guilt free to just get stuff like that. Lily really wanted asperigus and yogart, and we got stuff to go on our angelfood cake and things like that.

Today is friday!!! Youssef will be back in a little over two hours, and I'm making pizza for dinner! (I made the crust yesterday at the same time as the bread.)
*smile* I like my life.

One week appointment

Renna had her one week appointment today and she weighs 7 lbs 2 oz! So, what is that? 7 oz. more than her birth weight! She's doing really well, and learning to love her Amby bed. Lily and I made bread this morning and listened to Barbra Strisand and Renna slept quietly through it all in her bed (that I brought into our living room.) It's after 4 now and they are both still sleeping. They started in their own beds, but ended up on my lap again. I don't really mind... soon they won't want to snuggle anymore so I'd better enjoy it now!

HAD to add this picture from today! I was actually trying to get a picture with her eyes open and I made the mistake of saying "smile" right before taking the picture. Clearly, she's a genius.

First day with Daddy back to work!

We got to try out the new stroller that we got from our churches baby shower! It's seating is like a limousine and it drives like a Cadillac! Very sweet. And I love the color! The seats can turn to face each other or both forward or whatever and the seat Renna is in tilts back. Youssef was impressed with how deep the cup holders are and when he put it all together in our living room Lily didn't want to get out of her new stroller chair! (It must be really comfy.)

We walked to Corbin park and Lily decided that she was big enough now to climb everything all by herself! She did really good too and only once almost fell on her head, but she caught herself.

While Lily played I nursed Renna then she fell asleep in the stroller.

I don't know if you can tell in the picture above, but Lily ran ahead to the swings. So that picture is sort of a seeing through Lynne's eyes type thing. :)

After swinging (which she had lots of fun with too) Lily decided that it would be fun to run around in the tennis court. I was thinking how boring it was for me and how I should ask for Roller blades for my birthday so I could Rollerblade while she runs around. ;)

When we got back Renna was still asleep so she napped for another hour and a half in her bouncy seat while Lily and I had lunch. Lily saw a box of Angel food cake that I was planning on making some time and she really really wanted it so we mixed it up real quick and now they are cooling. I put Lily to sleep and laid her down so I had some time with both asleep so that I could straighten up a bit and put a movie on (An "Affair to Remember" that I wanted to watch again because Youssef sort of ruined the ending for me. ;) Renna woke up and wanted to eat, then Lily woke up and wanted to cuddle back to sleep, so now I'm blogging with both girls asleep on my lap. You might ask why I don't lay them down somewhere, but I couldn't do much while I was nursing Renna and Lily fell asleep so I'm sort of stuck this way till Lily wakes up. My arm is feeling a little weird, but I've got everything I need near me and the girls are happy. :)

Four are Renna and four are Lily. Guess who is who!!! (Sorry the crop job isn't so great, but it sort of works.)

Doing stuff

What have we been doing? Reading lots of stories together, watching movies, and other quite things.

But today we went shopping! I had fun using a target gift card that I got as a shower gift to buy pretty easter dresses for the girls! They are the same color (violet) but quite a different style. I also got a purple top for me. It doesn't quite match the girls dresses, but it was the only style that actually looked somewhat good on me at this postpartum time. Anyway, it was really fun shopping. Youssef took Lily around the store and I took Renna in her carseat that hooks onto this roller frame that I got as a shower gift on Saturday. It's SO nice and compact and easy to use. I walked a lot today, but even though I'm a bit sore it's sort of a good sore like I needed to excersize and feel better now.

While Youssef and Lily played at the park for a bit I took Renna to Walmart and got a few things. Lily needed some cool jammies and so I got her these princess ones which she's been wearing all afternoon. She's been playing with this head band a lot today too.

We still need to go on a walk to try out the new double stroller from the shower as well! I'm really excited about trying it out (we'll post a picture of them in it when we go on the walk), but I don't want to over due it.

After we got back from shopping, the girls took naps. Both of them slept for over two hours at the same time! Youssef and I watched a romatic comedy together while they napped. Renna is liking her Amby bed (she slept in the living room so I could keep an eye on her.)
Now, Lily is watching a cartoon, Youssef is doing housework, and Renna is sleeping on my lap while I type.
